About·Our history

Every Nation London was started when Wolfi and Alison Eckleben responded to what they sensed as “God’s call to the nations”. This resulted in them being sent out from the His People church in Cape Town, South Africa, to start the work in London.
Having never been to London before, and knowing no-one, they arrived at Heathrow Airport on 4 September 1993 with their two backpacks and a vision. A great adventure was just beginning.
After a very difficult and seeming unfruitful first year, there was a breakthrough, and the church has been growing ever since. Since then thousands of people from all over the world have been a part of this church and have had their lives significantly changed. Some have stayed in London for a few months, some for many years, but what continues today is the fruit of all those who have made a difference with their time, talents and treasures.
In 2004 the church name was changed from “His People” to “Every Nation”. This was for practical and prophetic reasons, and identifies us more clearly with our Every Nation family of churches and ministries around the world. The change has ushered in a new season of people of many different nations joining the church, with as many as 40 different nations now represented.
To date from our first congregation in London we have planted churches in:
- China (exact location withheld)
- Dublin, Ireland (2002)
- Stratford, east London (2003)
- Madrid, Spain (2009)
- Slough, west of London (2009)
- Hammersmith 6pm, west London (2009)
- Gent, Belgium (2010)
The adventure continues as we write His story into the history of campuses, communities, cities and nations.
