Connect·Leading a group

A connect group leader is an established Christian who is a church member, has completed our introduction training, and is committed to our ongoing leadership requirements.

In most cases we would also expect people to have been involved in a connect group before leading one of their own, but there are exceptions.

We believe most people are easily capable of running a great connect group. As long as you love God and love people, we’re sure you could lead one too!

Other questions

I don’t have much room in my house. Can I still lead a group?

Definitely yes! Pubs and coffee shops make great venues for a group, are natural places for conversation and easy to bring friends along to. Alternatively there are many people who are willing to host a group at their house without actually wanting to lead it themselves.

What support do I get as a leader?

We give group leaders as much help as they need to find the right resources and materials for their group. Additionally all group leaders are part of a leadership group which meets regularly, where they are able to develop relationships with other connect group leaders and receive support and coaching in their leadership. Finally, all groups fall into an area zone which is overseen by a zone leader/pastor who is available to provide further support if necessary.
